Description:
This person will manage the operations of an advanced manufacturing facility with 80 CNC machines. They will demonstrate the leadership qualities that bring the most out of a very capable staff. They will understand the nuances, complexities and competing demands embedded in the manufacturing process, and orchestrate a balance that has Nexen performing at the highest level possible. They will be the champion for safety and quality. The operations manager will engage in a never ending journey for continual improvement and cost savings. Sharing a vision for the future, sounding a call to action, and showing an interest in the people will be essential. Qualifications:
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial management, business or related, and 8-10 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment. A master’s degree is highly desirable. Must have sound knowledge of manufacturing operations & production procedures, innovative tools & techniques, and the latest equipment. Must have excellent strategic, communication, problem solving and decision making skills. Must also have effective computer skills, excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and demands. Demonstrated success with change management and continual improvement activities are essential. Must be willing to reside within 35 miles of the plant.
