About our Tension Control Brakes

Nexen’s tension control brakes have high thermal capacities and long operating lives. They are designed to dissipate heat away from the unit. Multiple actuators allow for versatile, precise tension control. Simple connections make installation and maintenance easy.

Friction facings are easily changed with spring loaded retaining pins. The XTB has 2/3 less rotational inertia than other brakes, which can prevent early breakage in web tension applications. Three-stage individual caliper controls are also available and are compatible with Nexen web tension control systems. The advanced version has an option for drilled rotors, dual-stacked rotors offer more thermal capacity and forced cooling fans are also available.
